Welcome to Corners of Life Counseling! I am Amanda Prior, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. In 2007, I received my Bachelor of Science in Sociology at Kennesaw State University. In late 2007, I began working with a local non-profit serving at risk male youths in a residential setting. While working with these youths I had a profound moment one day when the boys came home from school. They piled into my postage-stamp office - sitting one on top of the other. I would encourage them to play pool, basketball, Xbox, etc.… and they would reply, “Nah, we want to hang out and talk with you, Ms. Amanda.” It was at that time I decided to go back to school and obtain a degree in counseling. I received my master’s degree in professional counseling through Grand Canyon University in 2014. Upon graduation, I joined a group practice in Gainesville, Georgia. I provide individual counseling to children, adolescents, and adults as well as for families and couples. I work with individuals diagnosed with grief, trauma, ADHD, anxiety, and mood disorders. I have a passion for those struggling with setting healthy boundaries, managing conflict resolution, family struggles, unhealthy communication, and poor coping skills.
